Promenade des Anglais hotels and city centre

The Promenade is a busy two-way boulevard with a cycle lane and bus lanes, and stopping is not allowed everywhere. Hotels such as the Negresco or the Palais de la Méditerranée have a drop-off area at the entrance, and your chauffeur uses it rather than double-parking. If you are staying around Place Masséna or Avenue Jean Médecin, note that both are pedestrian zones with the tramway: we pick you up on a side street a minute’s walk away and confirm it by message.

Old Nice: where the car can and cannot go

The Old Town (Vieux-Nice) is a pedestrian area closed by retractable bollards. Cars cannot enter without a permit, and that includes chauffeurs. The practical drop-off points are Place Garibaldi to the north-east, the Quai des États-Unis along the Cours Saleya to the south, and Boulevard Jean Jaurès to the west. For a hotel inside the lanes, we use the meeting point the hotel gives its guests and the chauffeur helps with the bags up to that point.

Port Lympia, Nice-Ville station and Villefranche cruise calls

Port Lympia handles the ferries to Corsica, a few smaller cruise ships and many yachts. Give us the vessel and arrival time and the chauffeur waits outside the terminal or at the quay you indicate. At Nice-Ville station, where the TGV from Paris arrives after roughly 6 hours, the chauffeur meets you at the main exit on Avenue Thiers with a name sign.

Large cruise ships do not dock in Nice. They anchor in the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer, about 6 km east, and send passengers ashore by tender. Tender times slip, so we plan pickups on your actual landing time, not the ship’s arrival time, and build the return around the all-aboard hour.

A popular half-day is Villefranche and Èze by the Moyenne Corniche, with a stop at the perfume factories at the foot of the village. Saint-Paul-de-Vence fits well in an afternoon: the village is car-free, so the chauffeur drops you at the main gate and parks below. Which vehicle for your stay in Nice

The Mercedes E-Class chauffeur suits up to 3 passengers with 3 suitcases, which covers most couples and business travellers. Families and groups of friends up to 7 take the V-Class, which also fits pushchairs and golf bags. Groups up to 19 travel in the Sprinter with leather VIP seats. Our advice: a family of four landing with five suitcases should book the V-Class, not the sedan.
