Chauffeur service Monaco: Mercedes Sprinter, V-Class and E-Class lined up on an airport apron at sunset with a private jet

Chauffeur service in Monaco

Mercedes vehicles and chauffeurs who know the Principality's tunnels, hotel ramps and access rules, for transfers from Nice airport and days spent between Monte-Carlo and the port.

Driving in Monaco is a local skill

Monaco is 2 km² of hills, hairpins, one-way loops and tunnels. Many roads run underground, GPS often loses the signal, and a missed exit can mean a ten-minute detour through Fontvieille. Our chauffeurs drive here every week. They know the hotel ramps, the car parks with enough headroom for a van, and which approach to Casino Square is open at what time.

You get a Mercedes, an English and French speaking chauffeur, and a fixed price including fuel, tolls, parking and water. Book a transfer, a few hours or a full day. The formats are explained on our private driver French Riviera page.

From Nice airport to Monaco: car or helicopter

Monaco is 22 to 30 km from Nice Côte d’Azur airport depending on the route. By car, count 30 to 45 minutes on the A8 with exit 56, or longer by the coast road through Villefranche and Beaulieu. Our Nice airport transfer includes flight tracking, a name sign in arrivals and waiting time.

The helicopter lands at the Monaco heliport in Fontvieille, behind the Louis II stadium, after a flight of about 7 minutes. It is the fastest option for one or two people with cabin bags. With a family and six suitcases, the car is simpler: one vehicle, no transfer at the heliport, and no risk of a flight cancelled by wind. We also collect clients at the heliport and drive them to their hotel or yacht, which is a few minutes away.

Monte-Carlo hotels and Casino Square

The Hôtel de Paris sits on Place du Casino, with the Hôtel Hermitage a short walk away above the port. The Monte-Carlo Bay is further east on the Larvotto peninsula. Each has a forecourt with valets, so the chauffeur stops at the door and hands the bags to the porters. Casino Square itself is busy and stops there are brief, so for a dinner or an evening at the Casino the chauffeur waits in a public car park nearby and is back at the door within minutes of your call.

The Rock: restricted access to Monaco-Ville

Monaco-Ville, on the Rock, is where you find the Prince’s Palace, the Cathedral and the Oceanographic Museum. Access by car is restricted to vehicles registered in Monaco or the Alpes-Maritimes, unless the town hall grants a special permit. Tell us early if the Rock is part of your day. We confirm the drop-off point with the quote. The usual fallback is the Parking des Pêcheurs below the old town, where public lifts take you up to the Rock.

Port Hercule, yachts and the Monaco Yacht Show

Port Hercule is the main harbour, at the foot of the Rock and below Monte-Carlo. Yacht crews often ask us to bring guests and luggage to the quay and collect them at a set time. Give us the yacht name and the berth if you have it, and the chauffeur coordinates with the crew by phone.

Every September, the Monaco Yacht Show fills Port Hercule with superyachts, and access to the quays is badged. Expect slower traffic around the port all week and plan your arrival times with a margin. A chauffeur at disposal is useful here: you move between the show, meetings in Monte-Carlo and dinners on the coast without looking for a taxi.

The Grand Prix and other busy weeks

The Monaco Grand Prix usually takes place in late May or early June on the city streets. The circuit set-up starts weeks before, and during the race weekend many roads are closed. See our Monaco Grand Prix chauffeur page for drop-off points and timing. Groups should also know that vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are not allowed to drive in Monaco between 8 and 9 am. We plan large minibus arrivals around that slot.

Day trips from Monaco

From Monaco to Distance Usual drive time
Cap-d’Ail 4 km 10 min
Èze village 9 km 15 to 20 min
Menton 10 km 15 to 25 min
Nice centre 20 km 30 to 45 min
Sanremo (Italy) 45 km 45 to 60 min
Cannes 55 km 50 min to 1 h 10

A common half-day pairs Monaco with Èze, or continues to Menton and the Italian border. Italy is close: lunch in Sanremo is an easy outing.

Which vehicle for Monaco

For one to three passengers, the Mercedes E-Class chauffeur is the most practical choice. It fits every hotel ramp and underground car park. The V-Class takes up to 7 people with luggage. The Sprinter carries up to 19 for a team dinner or a group transfer. For larger events we combine several vehicles.

How to book

Send the date, pickup point, programme and number of passengers through the quote form, by phone or on WhatsApp. We reply with a fixed price, and nothing is booked until you confirm. Companies can pay by invoice.

Frequently asked questions

Is it better to go from Nice airport to Monaco by car or helicopter?

The helicopter flight to the Fontvieille heliport takes about 7 minutes, against 30 to 45 minutes by car. It suits one or two people with light luggage. Families, groups and anyone with several suitcases are usually better served by car, door to door, and the car does not depend on the weather.

Can a chauffeur drive me up to the Prince's Palace?

Access to Monaco-Ville, the Rock, is restricted to vehicles registered in Monaco or the Alpes-Maritimes, unless the town hall grants a special permit. Tell us if the Palace, the Cathedral or the Oceanographic Museum is in your plan. We confirm the drop-off point with the quote, with the Parking des Pêcheurs lifts as the usual fallback.

How long does it take to drive from Nice airport to Monaco?

About 30 to 45 minutes by the A8, using exit 56 for Monaco. At rush hour, on summer weekends and during the Grand Prix or the Yacht Show it can take longer. Your chauffeur tracks your flight and adjusts the pickup if you land early or late.

Can the chauffeur wait for us during dinner or at the Casino?

Yes, with a booking at disposal. The chauffeur drops you at the entrance of the Hôtel de Paris, the Casino or your restaurant, parks in a nearby public car park and comes back when you call. Waiting is part of the hours booked, so there is no meter running.

Do you work during the Monaco Grand Prix and the Yacht Show?

Yes, both are among our busiest weeks. Roads close, the port is badged and traffic slows across the Principality, so book as early as you can. For the Grand Prix, our dedicated page explains drop-off points, timings and how to plan around the circuit.
