Group transportation on the French Riviera
From 4 to 50 passengers and more, with Mercedes vans and VIP minibuses driven by our chauffeurs. We plan the vehicles, the rotations and the timings so your whole group arrives together.
Group transport is our core business
Our name says it: My Group Driver. Most of our work is moving groups, not single travellers. A family of six landing at Nice airport, twenty colleagues going to a seminar in Cannes, sixty wedding guests spread over four hotels. The aim is always the same: everyone arrives together, on time, with their luggage.
We are based in Nice and drive a Mercedes fleet across the Riviera. Every booking includes the chauffeur, fuel, tolls, parking and bottled water, and you get a fixed price before you confirm. For a broader look at renting a minibus with a driver, read our guide to minibus hire in Nice.
Choosing vehicles by group size
The first question is never the price. It is how many people, and how many bags.
| Group size | What we send |
|---|---|
| 1 to 3 passengers | Mercedes E-Class |
| 4 to 7 passengers | Mercedes V-Class |
| 8 to 19 passengers | Mercedes Sprinter (VIP minibus, leather seats) |
| 20 to 26 passengers | Sprinter + V-Class |
| 27 to 38 passengers | 2 Sprinters |
| 39 and more | 2 or more Sprinters, plus V-Class vans as needed |
A piece of advice from experience: for 8 or 9 people, do not book two V-Class vans to save a few seats. One Sprinter keeps the group together, and nobody waits for the second car at the hotel. The Mercedes Sprinter with chauffeur is the vehicle we use most for groups.
Luggage: the detail that changes the plan
Count one suitcase per passenger for the E-Class (about 3) and the V-Class (about 7). The Sprinter takes about 12 standard suitcases. The trouble starts with what is not standard: skis and boot bags in winter, golf bags, bikes, sports kit, sound equipment, wedding dresses in garment bags.
Tell us in advance. For a full Sprinter with skis or golf bags, we often add a V-Class that carries the bulky luggage and a few passengers. It is simpler than a second trip and avoids a 2am discussion at the arrivals exit.
Airport arrivals on several flights
Groups rarely arrive on one plane. A typical case: 25 guests, one flight from London at 10:15, one from Paris at 11:40, three people from New York via Frankfurt at 15:30.
We take the passenger list with each flight number, track every flight in real time and group passengers by arrival wave. Each wave has its own vehicle and chauffeur waiting in the arrivals hall at Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 with a name sign. Nobody waits for four hours for the last flight, and nobody is forgotten. Our Nice airport transfer page explains the meeting points.
Rotations between hotels and venues
For seminars, incentives and conferences, the hard part is the daily shuttle: hotel to venue in the morning, venue to restaurant in the evening, sometimes with guests in two or three hotels. We build a timetable with departure times from each hotel, the number of seats per rotation and a buffer for the slow guest. Each chauffeur gets the run sheet the day before.
One coordinator, one contact person
You deal with one coordinator from the quote to the last transfer. On the day, give us a contact person within the group: a tour leader, a team manager or the best man. Each chauffeur has that person’s number, and the coordinator follows every vehicle. If a flight is delayed or a dinner runs late, one message is enough to move the whole plan.
Typical group trips we run
Wedding guest shuttles. Hotel to ceremony, ceremony to the reception venue, then return loops at the end of the evening, for instance at midnight and 2am. We check the access to hill villas around Grasse or Saint-Paul-de-Vence before the day. More on this on our event transportation page.
Sports teams. Football, rugby or cycling teams with kit bags, staff and equipment, between Nice airport, the hotel and the training ground. The Sprinter plus a V-Class for the kit is the usual set-up.
School trips and family reunions. Grandparents, cousins and children in one vehicle, and stops planned for the children. Tell us their ages when you book. For school groups, send us the number of pupils and adults.
Corporate teams. Airport arrivals, daily shuttles to Sophia Antipolis, Cannes or Monaco, and an invoice for the company at the end.
Long-distance group transfers
Groups often land in Nice and travel on. In winter, the ski resorts of the Alpes-Maritimes, Isola 2000 and Auron, are 1 h 30 to 1 h 45 from Nice airport. Italy is close: Sanremo is about an hour away, Milan 3 h 30 to 4 h. Longer transfers to other Alpine resorts, Provence, Geneva or Paris are possible on request.
For mountain roads in winter, tell us your dates early so we can plan the vehicles and the equipment. Send your group size, luggage and timings through the booking form, and we reply with a vehicle plan and a fixed price.

Frequently asked questions
What is the largest group you can transport?
One Mercedes Sprinter seats up to 19 passengers. For larger groups we combine vehicles, for example two Sprinters for 38 people, or a Sprinter and a V-Class for 26. There is no fixed upper limit: we plan the number of vehicles from your passenger list, luggage and timings, then send one quote for the whole group.
How do you handle a group arriving on several flights?
Send us the passenger list with each flight number. We track every flight and group passengers by arrival time, so nobody waits more than about an hour. Each wave has its own vehicle and chauffeur with a name sign in the arrivals hall at Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 of Nice airport.
How much luggage fits in the vehicles?
The E-Class takes about 3 suitcases, the V-Class about 7, and the Sprinter about 12. Skis, golf bags, sports kit or band equipment change everything, so list them in your request. We may add a V-Class for luggage only.
Can you drive groups to ski resorts or to Italy?
Yes. We drive groups from Nice airport to the ski resorts of the Alpes-Maritimes, such as Isola 2000 and Auron, 1 h 30 to 1 h 45 away, and across the border to Sanremo or Milan. Longer transfers to other Alpine resorts, Geneva or Paris are available on request with a fixed price.
Will we have one contact person for the whole trip?
Yes. You deal with one coordinator from the quote to the last transfer, by email, phone or WhatsApp. On the day, each chauffeur has the run sheet and the phone number of your group leader, and the coordinator follows every vehicle in case a flight is late or the programme changes.
