French Riviera destinations by chauffeur
Where we drive most, how far each place is from Nice Côte d'Azur airport, and the trips our clients usually book there.
Distances from Nice airport at a glance
Most stays on the Riviera start at Nice Côte d’Azur airport, so we measure everything from there. Times below are for a normal day outside rush hour. July, August and the big events in Cannes and Monaco add margin, which we build into your pickup time.
Nice
7 km, 15 to 25 min. Hotels on the Promenade des Anglais, apartments in Old Nice and the port, cruise passengers and the Carnival in February. Clients book airport transfers, evenings out and half days on the corniches. See our private chauffeur in Nice.
Cannes
27 km, 30 to 45 min. The Croisette, the Palais des Festivals and a calendar of trade shows from spring to autumn. Business travellers book a car on standby between meetings, and in May the Cannes Film Festival chauffeur service is our busiest week. Day-to-day bookings are on our private chauffeur in Cannes page.
Monaco
30 km, 30 to 45 min. Monte-Carlo, the Casino, Fontvieille and the Port Hercule. Clients book dinners, business meetings and the Yacht Show in September. Our chauffeur service in Monaco covers the year, and the Monaco Grand Prix chauffeur page explains how we work around the road closures.
Saint-Tropez
105 km, 1 h 30 to 2 h 15, more on summer afternoons. Villas in Ramatuelle and Gassin, Pampelonne beach clubs, Port Grimaud. Almost everyone comes for an airport run with a lot of luggage: see our Saint-Tropez airport transfer.
Antibes and Juan-les-Pins
20 to 22 km, 25 to 35 min. Port Vauban and its superyacht quay, Cap d’Antibes hotels, Juan-les-Pins and its jazz festival in July. We drive crews to their yachts, families to villas on the Cap and guests to evening concerts. Most bookings start with a Nice airport transfer.
Èze
22 km, 30 to 40 min. The medieval village sits on the Moyenne Corniche and is closed to cars, so we drop you at the foot of the village. Popular for a half day combined with the Fragonard perfume factory below and the view from the Jardin exotique, often paired with Monaco.
Villefranche-sur-Mer and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat
15 to 20 km, 25 to 40 min. Villefranche’s deep bay is a cruise stop, and passengers land by tender at the harbour. Our chauffeurs meet them on the quay for shore excursions. Cap-Ferrat means the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, private villas and quiet hotels with narrow access roads.
Cap-d’Ail
25 km, 30 to 40 min. Right next to Monaco, on the Fontvieille side. Clients stay here for the Grand Prix or the Yacht Show and want a car to cross into the Principality, or a ride down to Plage Mala and the coastal path.
Menton
40 km, 45 to 60 min. The last French town before Italy, with its Lemon Festival in February. Clients book airport transfers, day trips across the border to Ventimiglia’s Friday market, and drives up to Sainte-Agnès or Gorbio.
Hill villages: Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Grasse and beyond
Saint-Paul-de-Vence is 15 km from the airport, 20 to 30 min. Grasse is 40 km, 40 to 50 min. Clients visit the Fondation Maeght, the perfume houses of Grasse, Gourdon and Tourrettes-sur-Loup, or travel to weddings in the hills. These roads are narrow and parking is scarce, which is where a private driver on the French Riviera by the hour makes the most sense.

Frequently asked questions
Can I visit several Riviera towns in one day with a chauffeur?
Yes, with a chauffeur at your disposal for a half day or a full day. A classic loop is Èze, Monaco and Villefranche-sur-Mer along the corniches, or Saint-Paul-de-Vence and Grasse inland. Distances are short, so the limit is parking and walking time rather than driving. We help you plan a realistic order.
Which destinations are best reached by car rather than train?
Saint-Tropez has no railway station, and the hill villages such as Èze village, Saint-Paul-de-Vence or Gourdon are far from the nearest station. The coastal towns from Cannes to Menton are on the railway line, but a car drops you at the hotel door with your luggage.
Do you drive outside the French Riviera?
Yes, on request. We regularly quote long-distance transfers to Provence, the Alps ski resorts, Italy, Geneva, Milan and even Paris. Send the addresses and dates through the quote form and we reply with a fixed price for the whole trip, tolls and fuel included.
Can the chauffeur wait while we visit a village?
Yes. When you book a chauffeur by the hour, the vehicle and driver stay with you. Many old villages are pedestrian, so the chauffeur drops you at the entrance, waits nearby and picks you up at the agreed time, or at a different exit if you prefer to walk down.
