Saint-Tropez airport transfer with a private chauffeur

From the arrivals hall at Nice Côte d'Azur to your villa in Ramatuelle or your hotel on the port, about 105 km door to door. We plan the route around the summer queues and bring a vehicle big enough for a two-week stay.

Nice airport to Saint-Tropez by private car

Saint-Tropez is about 105 km from Nice Côte d’Azur airport by road, and there is no railway station in town. A private transfer is the simplest way to cover it: your chauffeur meets you in the arrivals hall at Terminal 1 or Terminal 2, loads the luggage and drives you to the door of your hotel, villa or beach club. Allow around 1 h 40 out of season and 2 h 30 or more on a summer afternoon.

The price is fixed before you travel and includes tolls, fuel, airport parking and waiting time if your flight is late. We track your flight, so a delayed landing at Nice does not change anything for you.

The route and where it slows down

The first 85 km are motorway. We take the A8 west past Cannes and Fréjus to exit 36, Le Muy, signed for Sainte-Maxime and Saint-Tropez. This part is predictable.

The last 20 km decide your arrival time. From Le Muy, the D25 runs down to Sainte-Maxime, then the D559 follows the gulf to the La Foux roundabout, and the D98A takes you into Saint-Tropez. In July and August, queues build through Sainte-Maxime and on the D98A between La Foux and the town entrance, especially on Saturdays when many villa rentals change over.

When the coast is blocked, your chauffeur can leave the A8 earlier at exit 35, Le Luc, and cross the Massif des Maures on the D558 through La Garde-Freinet and Grimaud. It is a winding road, but it avoids Sainte-Maxime and comes out at La Foux. We check traffic before leaving the airport and pick the faster option on the day.

Drop-offs around the peninsula

Destination Approx. distance from Nice airport Good to know
Sainte-Maxime 90 km Reached from Le Muy by the D25
Port Grimaud 95 km Lagoon village, cars stay at the entrance
Gassin 100 km Hill village above La Foux
Saint-Tropez port and village 105 km We agree a drop point with your hotel
Ramatuelle 110 km Villas on narrow lanes in the hills
Pampelonne beach 110 km Beach clubs along about 5 km of sand

Port Grimaud is built on canals, so we stop at the car park by the entrance and help you with your bags. In Saint-Tropez itself, the streets around the old port are packed in summer and some are closed to traffic, so we fix the exact drop point with your hotel beforehand.

For villas in the hills of Ramatuelle and Gassin, send us the exact address or a map pin. Some access lanes are steep and narrow. A V-Class reaches almost every gate, a 19-seat Sprinter sometimes cannot, and in that case we plan a meeting point on the main road or split the group into two vans.

Closer airports: Toulon-Hyères and La Môle

Nice has the most flights, but it is not the only option.

Toulon-Hyères airport is about 50 km from Saint-Tropez, roughly an hour by road. It has scheduled flights, mainly from Paris and a few European cities, and makes sense when the timetable fits.

La Môle airport, officially Golfe de Saint-Tropez, is about 18 km from town. It mainly handles private jets and business aviation. Your chauffeur waits at the terminal and the drive to Saint-Tropez takes around half an hour.

Marseille Provence works for long-haul connections. Count about 2 hours by road to Saint-Tropez. We cover all three on request, with the same meet and greet and fixed price.

Luggage for long stays

Two weeks in a villa means large suitcases, sometimes golf bags, a pushchair, cases of wine on the way back. Plan the vehicle around the luggage, not only the passengers.

A Mercedes E-Class takes 3 passengers and about 3 suitcases, so it suits a couple. A Mercedes V-Class with chauffeur carries up to 7 passengers and about 7 suitcases. For 6 adults with two bags each, take a V-Class plus an E-Class, or a Sprinter, rather than squeezing into one van. Tell us the number and type of bags when you request your quote and we will match the vehicle.

Return trips to Nice airport

The return needs as much planning as the arrival. Add the drive time to the 2 hours the airport recommends before departure. For a 2pm flight from Nice in August, leave Saint-Tropez around 9am. Leaving early in the morning is the quietest option, while the afternoon queue out of the peninsula on summer Saturdays can be long.

Most clients request the return when they book the arrival, so the driver and vehicle are secured. Some like to break the journey with lunch on the Croisette: our private chauffeur in Cannes can wait while you eat and then continue to the airport. For other routes from the airport, see our Nice airport transfer page.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the drive from Nice airport to Saint-Tropez?

The road distance is about 105 km. Out of season, allow around 1 h 40 door to door. In July and August, and on summer Saturdays in particular, the last stretch around the gulf slows down and the trip often takes 2 h 30 or more. We tell you a realistic arrival time when we confirm.

Which airport is closest to Saint-Tropez?

La Môle, the Golfe de Saint-Tropez airport, is about 18 km away but mainly serves private and business flights. Toulon-Hyères is about 50 km away with scheduled flights, mostly from Paris and some European cities. Nice Côte d'Azur is further, about 105 km, but has by far the most international connections.

Is there a train from Nice airport to Saint-Tropez?

No. Saint-Tropez has no railway station. By public transport you need a train to Saint-Raphaël or Fréjus and then a bus or a boat across the gulf, with your luggage at each change. A private transfer takes you from the arrivals hall to your door in one vehicle.

Can you take a large group with luggage to Saint-Tropez?

Yes. A Mercedes V-Class takes up to 7 passengers with about 7 suitcases, and a Sprinter up to 19 passengers. For bigger groups we combine vehicles and time them to arrive together. Tell us the exact villa address so we check that the access road suits the vehicle.

When should I leave Saint-Tropez for my flight from Nice?

Count the drive time plus about 2 hours at the airport. For a 2pm flight in August, a departure around 9am is sensible. Early mornings are the quietest time to leave the peninsula. We suggest a pickup time when we confirm, based on the date and the season.
