Monaco Grand Prix chauffeur
A chauffeur for the Formula 1 weekend in Monaco, from Nice airport to the closest open drop-off point and back to your hotel in Nice, Èze or Menton. Mercedes vehicles for 1 to 19 passengers, a fixed price agreed in advance.
What the Grand Prix does to Monaco
The Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix takes place in late spring, usually late May or early June. In 2026 it ran from Thursday 4 to Sunday 7 June. The circuit is not a racetrack outside the town: it is the town. The cars race on about 3.3 km of public streets through Monte-Carlo and La Condamine, around Port Hercule and through the tunnel under the Fairmont hotel.
Building the circuit takes weeks. Grandstands, barriers and fences go up long before race week, and every street gets narrower. During the event days, the Monaco government closes the circuit streets from early morning until the end of the sessions: Boulevard Albert Ier, Quai des États-Unis, Avenue d’Ostende, Place du Casino, Avenue des Spélugues, Boulevard Louis II and several tunnels. One-way systems are reversed in the surrounding streets. A GPS that does not know this sends you into a dead end.
Getting into Monaco on race days
There are three roads from Nice: the A8 motorway, the Moyenne Corniche through Èze, and the Basse Corniche along the sea through Villefranche-sur-Mer, Beaulieu and Cap-d’Ail. On race weekend all three are slow near Monaco, and the queues start early. We leave early, choose the road according to your drop-off point, and give you a realistic pickup time the evening before.
The best drop-off points are those that stay open:
- Fontvieille, Avenue Albert II. This is where the official shuttles set down spectators, about five minutes on foot from the circuit with public lifts and escalators. It is our first choice for most grandstands on the port side.
- Beausoleil. The French town just above Monte-Carlo. Useful for the Casino and Massenet side of the circuit, with a downhill walk into Monaco.
- Cap-d’Ail. On the French side, west of Fontvieille. A good waiting point for the chauffeur when the centre of Monaco is saturated.
Monaco also runs its bus network free of charge during Grand Prix week. For a short hop inside the Principality, it is often faster than any car.
Stay in Nice, Èze or Menton and commute
Hotels in Monaco are booked far ahead for race week, often with a minimum stay. Staying outside is common and sensible.
| Base | Distance to Monaco | Usual time | Race weekend |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nice Côte d’Azur airport | 30 km | 30 to 45 min | 1 h to 1 h 30 |
| Nice city centre | 20 km | 30 to 40 min | 1 h to 1 h 15 |
| Èze | 10 km | 15 to 20 min | 40 min to 1 h |
| Beaulieu-sur-Mer | 10 km | 20 min | 45 min to 1 h |
| Menton | 10 km | 20 min | 45 min to 1 h |
If you are flying in, our Nice airport transfer includes a chauffeur waiting in the arrivals hall with your name and flight tracking. Many clients arrive on Thursday or Friday, before the heaviest traffic.
Yachts in Port Hercule
During the Grand Prix, Port Hercule fills with yachts, and some of the best views of the race are from their decks. The quays are part of the circuit area, so access to them by car is limited and controlled. Give us the yacht name and berth number when you book, and ask the crew or the charter broker which access they recommend that day. We drop you at the nearest permitted point and stay in contact for the return, which is often late in the evening.
Car or helicopter
A helicopter flight from Nice airport to the Monaco heliport in Fontvieille takes around seven minutes. For one or two people with light luggage on race day, it is hard to beat. For a family, a group or guests with suitcases, a car is more practical, and a Mercedes Sprinter with chauffeur carries up to 19 people together. You can also combine both: the helicopter on race morning while the chauffeur takes your luggage to the hotel, then the car back in the evening.
Other motorsport weekends in Monaco
The same streets host other races. The Monaco Historic Grand Prix, with classic racing cars, takes place every two years in spring (24 to 26 April in 2026). The Monaco E-Prix, the Formula E race, is also held in spring (16 and 17 May in 2026). Road closures are lighter than for Formula 1 but the logic is the same, and we plan drop-offs the same way.
A chauffeur for the whole race weekend
Most Grand Prix clients book a chauffeur at their disposal for the day or for the full weekend. The car takes you in the morning, waits outside the closed area, and is ready when you leave your grandstand, your yacht or the after-race dinner. For the rest of your stay, our chauffeur service in Monaco covers restaurants, the Casino and day trips along the coast.
Book three to six months ahead, ideally as soon as you have your tickets. Send us your dates, hotel, grandstand or yacht and number of passengers through the booking form, and we reply with a fixed price.

Frequently asked questions
Where will my chauffeur drop me during the Monaco Grand Prix?
The circuit streets are closed from early morning to the end of each day's sessions, so no car reaches the grandstands. The most practical drop-off is usually Avenue Albert II in Fontvieille, about five minutes on foot from the circuit with lifts and escalators. Depending on your grandstand, we may use the Beausoleil side instead.
How long is the drive from Nice airport to Monaco during the Grand Prix?
Normally 30 to 45 minutes for 30 km by the A8 motorway. On race weekend, traffic into Monaco builds from early morning and the queues at the entrances are long, so we plan 1 h to 1 h 30. The evening return after the race is the slowest part, as everyone leaves at the same time.
Should I take a car or a helicopter from Nice to Monaco?
The helicopter flight from Nice airport to the Monaco heliport in Fontvieille takes around seven minutes and avoids the traffic completely. It suits one or two people with light luggage. For a family or a group with suitcases, a V-Class or a Sprinter is more practical, and we can combine both: helicopter in, car back.
When should I book a chauffeur for the Grand Prix?
Three to six months ahead. Hospitality agencies, teams and yacht charterers reserve vans and minibuses for the whole week as early as the winter. If you already have your grandstand tickets or hospitality package, book the transport at the same time. Late requests are possible, but the choice of vehicles is much smaller in May.
Can you move a hospitality group of 30 people?
Yes. A typical plan for 30 guests is two Sprinters, or one Sprinter and two V-Class vans. All vehicles leave the hotel together, use the same drop-off point and wait for the same return time. One coordinator stays in contact with your host by phone and WhatsApp during the day.
